so if i don't notice a vibration i'm fine? how noticeable would it be? i took it for a spin and didn't notice any vibration.
Also, I thought that drive shafts were balanced on their own, out of the vehicle...so shouldn't it be balanced regardless of what position it's in, since the...
I just Lubed my slip yoke by taking the drive shaft out. I just wanted to check...as long as the ends of the drive shaft are in sync with each other, it's in correct, right? I had thought that there was only one way to get the slip yoke back together, but mine didn't have a "double spline" as...
I just got a full set of Monroe Relfex Shocks in the mail today. I took them out to take a look...When I compress the rear shocks, one of them rebounds much too fast. When I compress the fronts, one rebounds much too slow. Did I just get ripped or is this common for Monroe shocks? It's gunna...
i've found this on my '04 adrenaline too, just under the window on the drivers side door. it's a thin strip (1/8") peeling all the way across, but just the clear coat. i'm going to tape the area off, hit it with a green scotch brite pad to remove anything that is loose, then apply some...
it's funny how you can pay for a service, with the option to pay more for them to do it right.
Although I must say USPS has by far been the best for prices and treatment in my experience.
45 degrees would be pretty cold for AC...think about everything that ships over here from different areas of the world on boats and trucks, then sits in non-climate controlled warehouses for months, like most electronics...they're all subject to much more extreme temps than AC could ever dish...
If you haven't replaced them yet, check to see if your sway bar end links have snapped. Even if they're not broken, replace em with the MOOG parts (Autozone's brand part is a MOOG rebranded), because they will at some point.
I had a mobile PC in my taurus for 3 years with a lilliput touch screen lcd monitor in dash, in upstate NY. It was subject to extreme temps all the time, and never let me down. When it's really cold it seemed a bit laggy until it warmed up, but nothing too bad. Sure it's not quite as hot as...
Sears quoted me almost $300 for a full set of Monroe reflexes today, just for the parts without installation. I just found them on amazon.com, $125 for all of them! They're on the way! This will make it easier to pick up the EE rear sway bar!
If you're looking, part numbers are...
I just purchased an '04 with 45k, and per recommendations from this site and my own used car experiences, I'll be doing the following soon:
New shocks - Monroe Reflex's
New rear sway bar - explorer express
New sway bar end links - MOOG's (AutoZone's are MOOG's)
Tranny Flush / fluid...
I hate when people mess with others' cars...it's like a rule of life...you don't mess with someones vehicle.
another handy cleaning tip...6:1 water/woolite (laundry detergent) is one of the best leather cleaners you can use. worked wonders on my seats, and it seems to be highly recommended...
I've also found some cases of late 90's explorers having a similar problem. I'm not sure how similar an '04 sport trac would be, but the majority seemed to be fixed by lubricating the slip-yoke on the driveshafts and/or replacing the shocks...lubing the slip yoke is cheap, and I planned on...
I've noticed that whenever stopping hard enough, immediately after stopping I hear/feel a "clunk", and it seems like it's pushing forward. If I'm very easy on the brakes, I don't feel/hear it. I haven't been braking too hard, but it happens whenever I brake hard enough to feel my momentum...
