4.0L SOHC Metal Reinforced Timing Chain Guides Possible?

The 03 I have had the updated parts, the front chain was fine, rear was broke to hell as was the spring tensioner on the front.

    Rear usb port-gen1

I decided to remove the rear audio controls since my receiver isn't compatible and I figured this would be more useful. Spliced into existing wires, used green 5mm leds, a flush mount usb port, and a 3 pin Deutsch plug. The green leds were epoxied in the clear pieces surrounding the control...

    Wheelskins install

Might of been 30 mins. Don't care much for slip on ones

    hydroscopic stereeing fluid

Literally let it run and heat up, shouldnt have any moisture buildup. I added a replaceable filter on my f250 to the return line, seems to help keep crud from recirculating.

2003 Sport Trac Adrenalin XLT 4x4, 206k miles, broken timing chain for $1,000. Worth it?

Did something very similar two years ago when I got mine. I've put 30k miles on it since then. Besides some maintenance items, it's needed no large repairs. I paid almost double that, put 1200 in the engine, it's been a good little truck.

    Rear shocks

    Yes they are.

    Replacing the rear brakes

Honestly, the rear brakes do a fraction of the stopping, last place I'd spend money on performance is there. Stock stuff is fine there. The front does 70-80% of the actual braking.

    Differential Cover Suggestion Needed

I did the explorer one for two reasons, added a drain plug and it was cheap. I don't figure a 200hp v6 warrants the supports in a 150+ buck diff cover meant for a drag racing mustang.

AQUARIUM IN DRIVERS SIDE FRONT DOOR

Mine had plastic caps filling the drain holes in the doors. I pulled them and tossed them in the trash

This is off an early 4.0 sohc

    Valve Cover Replacement Options

I believe the one I saw was a sohc engine, valve covers were big like on the sport tracs, not like the 94 ohv explorer we also have. I haven't found any pics online, I want to say it was 97 or 98.

    Valve Cover Replacement Options

I know the early sohc 4.0 engines used metal ones, but I'm not sure if it's aluminum or steel. Anything else I believe would have to be custom fabbed.

Extended Travel CV Axle Half Shafts

Depends on how much the diff is dropped, to an extent it'd work. It'd be to reduce the CV axle angle only

    Differential Cover Suggestion Needed

I used a 07-10 oem explorer irs diff cover with the ears cut off

    Wheelskins install

My original steering wheel wrap was trashed and oozing black tar from the seams. I decide to replace it with a wheelskins leather wrap. Only like 50 ish bucks or so. I used the grey AX size. Few things I did to make it look better, cut a new groove for the single seam and filled in the two...

Extended Travel CV Axle Half Shafts

That'd make sense too, and honestly more practical. Work on rangers, 2nd gen explorers

Extended Travel CV Axle Half Shafts

This is great. Especially considering how they seem to be the only real downfall to a torsion twist.

    Bed extender pivot bolts

I think I pulled some door striker bolts from the junkyard and tapped the holes. Work fine.

    Upgrading 2003 headlights

Projector retrofits are an option, and now even quality drop in leds are. Nicer ones will have no glare, more light output and pretty similar beam pattern. I picked up some hikari 2020 9007s off amazon. I need to aim them up a little, but I'm pretty happy with them. Check into headlight...

Rubber bushing between body and frame.

If you don't live in the rust belt, it's not too bad actually.
