    Leaf Springs

Kind of what I figured, which is why I asked. A general question to everybody: Would replacing the 20 year old leaves with new stock ones be enough to meet my needs?

    Leaf Springs

Thanks, DILLARD000! How will these affect my every day ride? I tow no more than once a month, but I drive every day.

    Leaf Springs

Thanks. That was actually one of the things I was looking at.

    Leaf Springs

Hello! I have a 2002 4x2 with the original factory leaf springs. I've started towing a 3000 lb travel trailer occasionally. The leaf springs seem sufficient, but should I consider replacing them with a new set, or add a suspension enhancement? I tow with a weight distribution hitch that does...

    Floor Mats

Hi Larry. Sorry, but John ended up taking them.

    Floor Mats

PM me your address, and the next time I'm in town (this Saturday; I work from home) I'll stop at UPS and get an exact quote. I'll let you know how much it costs later that day.

    Floor Mats

Following up: I located the box, and it's exactly as I remembered. A full set, still in the plastic wrap. Let me know if you want it, otherwise, it goes back on the shelf.

    Floor Mats

Hi John. I'm a member from the original days of the forum (back when Rich Stern ran it), but have been mostly inactive these past few years. If my memory serves me correctly, I believe I have a complete set of Gen 1 floor mats (front and back) brand new, still in their wrapping. I need to...

2002 4x2 Upgrade to Limited Slip Differential?

The other thread about locking diffs re-energized my long standing desire to upgrade my open diff. I've had a Powertrax lunchbox locker on the shelf for years that I've never gotten around to installing. It's supposed to be street friendly, but from what I've learned recently, it'll still...

Opinions about Cruise Control Replacement Switches

I replaced mine with the cheap ones. They appear to be very good quality. Very happy with mine.

    Installing an E Locker

I don't know if it is, or not. I'll have to take a look at it again. Been a few years. Thanks for the heads up.

    Installing an E Locker

I have a Powertrax I've had on the shelf for a few years. It's supposed to be a street locker designed for minimal chatter in turns. Never got around to installing it. My Trac is a 4x2 with a standard diff. I'd still like to get it on there, but now I've got a 17' travel trailer. I don't...

Having issues filling gas tank on 2007 Sport Trac,

My 2002 has a similar problem. It fills up just fine, but shuts off before it's full. When I've had the time, I've been able to nurse in another 4 or 5 gallons. I always assumed it was the filler neck design.

2004 ST - Cruise control - best controls?

I will make another point. If you have to (or want to) replace the ribbon cables as well, you have to remove the two horn brackets to run the cables behind them. When reinstalling the horn brackets, don't tighten the screws too much; snug is enough. Too tight, and the horn will blow...

If you are wondering where all the first gen sport tracs are?

Same here. I looked at the new Ranger, but after considering all the things I'd have to do to it, to get it where I've got my Trac now, I decided to just keep the Trac. I've customized it over the years to exactly what I want in a truck.

If you are wondering where all the first gen sport tracs are?

I've still got my 2002. Original owner. Still looks and runs great. I keep it maintained and cared for. Since I'm near retirement, it's probably going be my daily driver until someone takes my keys away from me. 😆 Nowhere near Mexico, though. I'm in Oregon.
