    O-town new owner!

Welcome! Other then the airfoil on the bed cover, it's not a bad looking cover. Can you remove the cover or it one of those installed lids with hydraulic lifts?

    Hello from Montpelier Indiana

Yours is just a baby. My '04 has over a quarter-million miles and still purrs like a kitten. Welcome!

    Hello from the PNW

Welcome! I've owned a '04 since new. It has a build date of January 2004, and currently has over 250k miles on the clock. I've had no engine or transmission issues. And both are operating like new. Over the last couple of years, I've had some alternator issues. Currently, my valve cover...

Just bought a 2010 ST Limited

It must just be the wheels then. It looks slightly more raked forward to me with the original wheels on it and looks more square and even sitting on the new wheels. But I guess it's just black wheels. In any case, it looks great.

Just bought a 2010 ST Limited

Man o Man, those look great on that truck! I'm really liking the silver. It has a classic look to it. It looks good without being showy, and it'll hold up better than a lot of other colors except maybe white. Did you lift the truck a little? It looks great.

I'm definitely not enough of an expert to say. But let us know how it works for you.

What should I do regarding a high mileage engine/transmission?

That's not a bad idea. However, a little research revealed that perhaps my experience isn't that unusual. Apparently Ford replaced their timing components after the 2002 Model year. 2003 and newer 4.0L SOHC motors have an updated and more durable chain guide. It's still a PITA engine out...

I wish there were a way to tie the two together. I don't use Facebook.

Just bought a 2010 ST Limited

Have you thought about lifting it a little? I'm not a fan of the super high lift kits, but a subtle lift really would make that ST look good. Also, a good brush guard or bullbar might look pretty good too. Mines only a 4x2 so I'd feel a little bit like a poser putting any serious off-road...

Just bought a 2010 ST Limited

Congrats! Hell, the older I get silver and white appeal to me more and more. I have a black BMW that just breaks my heart. The dark colors are great if you're a car detailer and willing to do the work to keep them looking good, but the darker colors are just so damn unforgiving. They show...

I use a Porter Cable 7424XP it's a relatively cheap option for someone who is just doing their personal cars. If I were in the car detailing business I might go with a different model. But I've had this one for years and it's worked well for me.

How many miles on your ST?

Just did that. Lower control arm bushings, ball joints, inner and outer tierods, upper control arm bushings and ball joints, new camber bolt, shocks, sway bar bushings, sway bar links front and back, and shocks. It took me most of a Saturday, stopped to watch a game, and most of Sunday. But I...

How many miles on your ST?

Man, mine is only a 2 wheel drive. That extra 10 wheels must be a nightmare. ;>) Seriously though, as far as southern trucks go, what's the point? My frame and body have no rust or corrosion. My suspension is new, I just overhauled everything. All my body mounts are new. If my engine or...

How many miles on your ST?

They're simple. That's their advantage. Plus at this point parts are cheap. My ST has been one of the cheapest and easiest vehicles to maintain that I've owned over the last 35 years of driving. Follow the recommended service schedule and they last.

What should I do regarding a high mileage engine/transmission?

I appreciate the advice. I guess I'll just replace the valve cover seals, and maybe lower oil pan seal and drive her till she dies. I think I'll get an oil analysis done just to get some idea of where I am on this engine.

Front Timing Chain Hydraulic Tensioner Disaster Averted

If you do your own work, the 1st gen ST 4x2s are one of the cheapest and painless vehicles to own. There are lots of other cars and trucks that put a bigger dent in your wallet greater than ST. I have an L322 Range Rover, which even with me doing my own work it is painful to keep it 100%...
