03 Sport Trac computer module

Looking for the comp mod on the 03 Sport Trac so I can get my keyless entry code, I see that in previous posts it is located behind the glove box and air bag. Just wanna make sure before I start tearing apart my baby. And as usual the dealer is no help (well free help anyway) :angry:.

Leo, thats where it is,,, Unless you pay the dealer they can get it with the scanner, the airbag is only 2 screws, Remove the battery cable, step on the brake a couple of times, Open the glove box, Squeeze it to lower it all the way and remove the air bag..

I DO remember a member saying he got it with a flash light and just removed the glove box door...

I did the job yesterday on my '03. Took about 15 minutes. The air bag comes out the front of the dash after removing the two 8 MM bolts from below. Once you drop down the glove box, you can get at these bolts no problem. Afer you pull out the air bag module, (or in my case, enlist the aid of a helper to hold it, - then you don't even have to disengage the connector), you will see through the airbag opening, an ivory colored plastic rectangular unit, held in place by two 7 MM bolts. The back of this unit has a sticker with the 5 digit code. You'll need to remove the two 7 MM bolts from the module to see the sticker on the back. Piece of cake. The dealer wanted me to leave the truck for a whole day so that they could read the code, so I figure I save myself seven hours and forty five minutes.
