Need someone to confirm my logic.

I was looking at the 06 Explorer brochure. It computes the ground clearance at 8.2". I assume that iss with the 16" wheels (it says underneeth minimum running)

would that meen with 18" wheels it would be 10.2" or 9.2"?

If you were to increase the tire diameter by 2 inches from stock, then the ground clearance would increase by 1 inch because the radius would increase by an inch.

got1b, the 16" and 18" numbers you are specifying represent the rim diameter, not tire diameter. The change in ground clearance will be based approximately on change in tire diameter. I say approximately because the tire diameter will be slightly different when mounted and under a load. Depending on sidewall construction, air pressure used, etc. there will be a slight variation in the theoretical height.

to add to what MikeC said, different tire company's have slight variations in the actual height of a size of tire, however the difference would be minimal.
