How many people would wait until Aug just to get the rear window that opens?

I am on the fence right now. I want to get rid of the '01 for an '07 but I dont really want the initial release and the little quirks that come with it. I also dont want to wait a minimum of 10 months just for a rear window that goes down although I do use it quite a bit.

Hey FORD, what the hell????????????????

Put the friggin window in already!

You could buy a new one, and I bet somehow convert the rear window, though I think it would be costly.

I AGREE!!

I love the rear window in my '03 Trac and will wait until Ford puts it in the new model before I even consider looking at it.

I personally would wait until at least '08, although sometimes that isn't even enough time for some bugs to be worked out, althought since it is sharing a platform with an existing model, maybe there won't be too many problems...

That has to be an all time piece of STUPIDITY on Ford's part to not put the opening rear window in the 07 ST if they knew they were going to bring it back with the job 2 change. They already had the hardware to include it to begin with and they knew it was a popular feature. What the heck were they think? If I was ready to replace my ST now with a new 07, They could just keep all their job 1's and I would wait for the job 2.

They said re: the rear window, the were not able to fix safety problems on Job 1. 2007 Job 2 should have the rear window that rolls down.

Tom

:DHas anyone noticed that the Toyota Tundra, and now the Nissan Titan Crew Cab have a full power assisted roll-down rear window? I saw a Titan with one the other day. I knew about the Tundra, but wasn't aware that the Titan had this option.

Guess the Sport Trac is really a trend-setter!

Hey TrainTracmore recently Toyota 4Runner had a power roll down rear window before the ST, not to mention quite a few other models. The '66 Falcon station wagon had either a power, or manual rear window, although it wasn't controllable from the driver's seat.

Station wagons have had them for decades. Not new technology, just a new application. Seems Ford is planning to sell a half-baked version of the new ST. I'd wait until it is finished, unless someone thinks the uniqueness of the Job 1s would cause them to be collectable.

Tiger,

I'm aware of the fact that a power roll-down rear window has been around for a long time in both station wagons and SUV's. I was pointing out the fact that the ST was the first SUT/truck to have this feature, and that the Tundra and Titan have followed suit. It's a relatively new concept in a truck.
