I need to remove the drive shaft on my 2004 2WD so I can tow it 5 hours home with the replacement 2008 4x4 V8 Trac.

I was told I might need a 12 point socket. Anyone know what size? SAE or Metric?

I tried to search the forum but came up empty.

THANKS

I did this to a 04 i had to tow and i think it was a 12mm 12pt i used.

Thanks, Curtis James.

That's what I discovered tonight. I appreciate the confirmation.

Now I need to determine how to apply enough torque to break them loose.

Your welcome, i had a pipe i used, i have done it a few times and you are right breaking them loose is hard part with out a pipe or breaker bar then climbing under a few times to put in neutral to turn shaft, i learned quick that taking a cardboard box to slide on works so well.
