20" wheel woes

Hello,

I'm in the market for some 20" wheels but am having a problem with my specific year. The guys at America's Tire Company say that the 01 can only run OEM size tires but 02 and up there's no problem. Btw it's their computer which is saying this. I was just curious if anyone with an 01 has went with different size wheels and tires and had any problems. Are they right or just blowing smoke? Thanks in advance guys.....

I have 22s on an 01 with a tire size of 305/40/22R tell them it works just fine.
