This is a one owner 2001 Ford Sport Trac 4X4. We are selling it because the kids are getting older and we need something larger. This has been a great truck for us, even with the smaller bed there is yet anything that I haven't been able to haul. We have taken very good care of it, regular oil changes and maintenance, we have the scheduled maintenance book and have kept notes in it as to what we have had done and when. The truck has just over 91,000 miles on it but that comes with an asterisk, I'll explain.
Right around 44k the check engine light came on, we took it in and the timing chain had skipped which caused a rod to bend and ruin a valve. The only way to fix it was a new engine. So at 44k a new engine was installed. At 78k there was a problem with the transmission slipping so I took it in and sure enough it was in need of repair/replacement. The transmission was replaced at 78k. I have paperwork for all this work; it was done at Landmark Ford in Tigard. I have a warranty up to 100k on the engine and transmission, obviously there isn't much of that left but my point is that even with the 91k on the truck the two major parts are much newer.
I upgraded the suspension of the truck to reduce and nearly eliminate the body roll that the Sport Trac had, it now is a very solid riding truck with great road manners. To really appreciate it you'd have to drive a normal Trac and then drive mine and you will see a difference right away with the cornering ability.
Here is a list of what the Trac has:
· Power windows
· Power door locks
· Power seat
· Power mirrors
· A/C
· Cruise Control
· Automatic with O/D
· Keyless entry
· Keypad entry
· AM/FM/in dash 6 disc changer with after market speakers and factory sub w/amp
· Rear audio controls w/headphone jack
· Rear air controls
· Tannau cover
· Bed Mat
· 17" After market wheels and tires.
· Painted Cladding (most Trac's have gray cladding-molding around the truck-but this Trac has it all black.
· Removed badges with black "Ford" decals over the traditional blue oval
· Stubby radio antenna
· Newer brake pads and front rotors
· K&N air filter-never have to purchase an air filter again!
* Upgraded Silver Star headlamp bulbs
I have pictures in my library. I know that nearly everyone here already has a trac but maybe you know someone who would like to buy one?
Thanks,
Scott
