sad thing is those numbers are the manufactuers ratings and not what people are getting in the real world......

I own a Toyota Matrix, and those numbers (30 City 36 Hwy) are dead on correct. I have gotten slightly better than 36 mpg on long highway drives if I really baby it.

I get better on the highway if I baby it. On a 30 mile drive, with no traffic, and I use my foot to contro the speed, I can get 23 MPG. My ScanGuage tells me so.

I've consistantly gotten 20-21 mpg with my trac between the first tank new and
the last tank (20.6 mpg @ 6,125 miles on her).
'Course, I drive like Grandma Moses 99% of the time with gas at 3.00 a gallon!
