This is not a compliant just a question, had my 2007 ST V8 for 2 months now and i get on average 16.8 mpg or 14L/100km. I've put new spark plugs( motor craft) air filter and fuel filter, cleaned MAF sensor, is this average or is there some way to improve mpg.

For the 07 st with the v8, the mpg is 14 city, 20 highway. So the average is 17 mpg. The only way i know to improve it is to keep your foot out of it :) Thats really not bad for a midsize by comparison, unless you buy a new truck with a turbo 4 cylinder, and those are only made that way because the government required it "to help the enviroment." My 02 st with the v6 gets an average of 18, not much better, and with considerably less power and torque.

It's good thing this isn't a complaint. I have an 08 limited with a V 8. 73,000 miles and a new engine with 2,000 miles on it now,( don't ask) and the mileage I get around town is in the 11' s and has never been better than that, even with the old engine. On the highway, 16 to 18. So I'll trade you if you want.

Biggest MPG killer with most gas vehicles is accelerating from dead stops. Sport Tracs are 4100+ pound bricks that benefit greatly from a lighter gas pedal when taking off. Also remember the MPG loss when using winter blended fuel.

Thanks for the feed back, like i said it was just a question, I'm ok with the mpg but were always looking for ways to improve
