Not biggie, unless you break a plug, follow the ford TSB on removal.

Changed mine on the stang at 15K miles, loota carbon as my A/F is 10.5.

Just go slow.

I had thought that our 4.6L engines used the same plugs as the 5.4L, but was wrong. Did a small upgrade today - new Accel coils ($205, Amazon) and Motorcraft SP-509 plugs (~$8 ea, RockAuto).[Broken External Image]:

I also purchased from Amazon the OTC 6900 spark plug socket ($17.64), Dielectric Grease and Anti-Seize lubricant. These plugs are 9/16" so I consider the socket an essential tool to add to your kit.

Plugs had 33K on them; while some will say they didn't need changing I thought they didn't look all that great. Truck's running great with the new bits - it seems to me to have more power. We'll see if fuel mileage goes up.
