4.6L V8

This is just out of curiosity. Has anyone somehow hooked up the 4.6L in the Explorer to their Sport Trac? Or if you know anyone that did I would love to know how or how you can't. I think it would be a great project and it would give my Sport Trac a little more juice.

No way it'd be easy, the 4.6 is huge and when they put it in the new explorers the explorer is a lot bigger. Go with a 5.0 if you want one that is easy to swap. The platform of the ST is the same that used to have the 5.0 in it.

Simple. 4.6 won't fit in a '01 to '05 Sport Trac.

The 4.6L is too wide. There is a member working on dropping a 302 into his 2001. His name is 23ballistic. He's had to do quite a bit of custom fabbing already to make everything work.

I know this is old, but honestly how much fabbing is necessary? Shouldn't a conversion kit from a Ranger be almost a direct fit?
