4X4 switch issues

Has anyone had issues with their 4X4 switch?



When I start my 2002 trac - I hear a click in the glove box and then I get no responce when I try to switch to 4X4.



Its weird cause if I pull the fuse out - and replace - sometimes it works again...



any suggestions?

Sounds like the 4x4 module or the motor is bad.....



The motor you can test by setting the parking brake, truck running, Some one in the truck, Put the truck in 4wd and lightly tap the motor with a rubber mallet. IF it works then the motor is bad. IF not then the module.....



Also I recommend when it is raining use date 4wd for a min or 2 just to keep the motor and stuff moving...

Yes, use the 4x4 once in a while (monthly) to keep the parts from sticking.
