A/C Compressor noise

Has anyone noticed the A/C compressor on the S/T makes a loud crashing sound when starting the engine? This occurs even when the A/C switched are in the off position. The Ford dealer is clueless as to what is causing the compressor to sound off.



Any help or suggestions?

I have the same problem, mine usually does it when it sits outside in the heat all day.

Exactly, it usually takes about 24 hours of sitting for the noise to reset. Now that cooler weather is coming to the mid-Atlantic area it will be interesting to see if the noise continues. If I get any help from Ford I’ll pass it on to you.
