I have an '02 Sport Trac, 2 wheel drive, with 221k miles on it. This spring when I use the A/C, it starts just fine, blowing cold air. Sometimes it runs perfectly during my entire trip. Other times, it continues to blow, but the air heats up to normal air temperature. When this happens, I can sometimes turn the A/C off for a few seconds and turn it back on and it will start working again. Other times that doesn't work. Finally yesterday, it would blow cold air when on Max but not when on regular A/C.

Any ideas?

Crosses fingers hoping it is not the compressor.

I think you need to listed and watch the compressor cycling....... Check the levels of refergerant.... Check your engine coolant and then check the clutch fan operation...

Hopefully that will give you the answer your looking for...

either your evap is icing up due to dirty coil/low on chare, or your blen door vacuum is not consistent... check vacuum lines under hood pass side...

sounds to me you have an intermitten open in the electrical circuit that energizes the ac compressor clutch.

other than that, I don' t know what to tell you. I haven't heard of a known issue with these ST

I have been having the same problem since last summer.....

I have served and recharged the system, pulled a vacuum several times, changed the orifice tube an still no luck........

Have you come up with any new answers??????
