I couldn't open the link due to our crappy band-width over here. I posted a message a week or two ago asking ST owners for their opinions and feed-back on the ST before I commit to buying one. Now that I'm sure it is what i want, I've decided to try to get an '05 XLT Premium, 4WD, in dark stone color.

I've tried to find more infor about the Ford Family program but have been largely unsuccessful. I'd like to know how to get enrolled in the plan or how to take advantage of the savings. If I could get it in conjunction with the rebate and tax-free option available to active duty servicemen, I could potentially save up to $10,000 of the MSRP.

I'll be going home later this month, so I'll be able to deal with our dealer there, but would like to have more insight into the FF plan in the event that I decide to do business with a state-side dealer when I get back to the US. If anyone can help me out, again, I'd appreciate it.

Dave: you don't have to enroll... just walk into the dealership, and they'll show you the employee price on the vehicle you are interested in.

So, why do they have different prices for their autos? Are they just trying to see if they can get a few people to pay full MSRP? Or maybe they just jack the prices way up, so it seems like the FFP price is a really great deal, when in fact it is the true price?

We don't have an Al-Qeada Family Ford dealership over here, so I can't check out stickers on new cars. I just hope the plan stays in effect until I can get back to civilization to do business.

Do you have to sign up for anything special, or do you just tell the dealer..."Hey, I want to pay $7,000 less on this truck. Give me the FFP price." Seems to good to be true.

Dave: they post the Ford Family price on the vehicle... if you don't see it, ask for it. Simple as that.
