Anyone done a 4.6 to 5.2 stroker?

My 2010 STA Blown Adrenalin just clicked 101k - thinking I want to rebuild with a 5.2 stroker and a fresh blower -

Anyone done anything like this? I have seen 5.0 Coyote swaps that have had transmission issues - the 5.4 swap with the 6 Speed - but again issues -

I have enjoyed 500rwhp for 100,000 miles - the 4.6 3V - blown - and want to get another 100k

Modular motors builds some sick 4.6 bottom ends and motors. ... Maybe them.
I gave up the whole idea of a SC on the adren.
I built a Whipple F150 instead....
 
Haven’t seen a stroker ST. But a few mustangs with the setup, mostly NA, and a couple turbo.


100k? My blower went on the truck at 195k, and currently sitting at 220k. A recent compression test showed she’s still very healthy. I do have new rod bearings, HV oil pump, and, chains/guides/tensioners/sprocket to go in fairly soon though(maybe in a couple oil changes). I borescoped the timing cover to check the guides and chains and they still look really decent. These 4.6’s are damn stout! So if you’re worried about miles, it’s just getting started. But if you’re making an excuse to pull the trigger on the 5.2, then yes… yes you should. lol 😜
 
You know though a bigger motor doesn't change brakes, trans, gearing, suspension and all the other factors that go into a vehicles towing capacity and safety while towing....
 
If your tow often, maybe a gear ratio change? 3.73 would help.

I assume you already did a cold air intake and cat back exhaust?
 
I’m pretty sure all of those other points have been upgraded(minus gearing) on his truck.

Displacement will help, but I don’t think it’s going to be as much as you’ll need(for your app), or rather, want to have on tap. A gear change to 4.10’s would help as well, but 1st gear would be pretty useless at wot(unless it’s awd-I can’t recall) at your power level. So it would help towing, but make the truck a bit of a handful everywhere else, and kill mpg a bit more. But, would be the cheaper of the two for sure.

Just my opinion, but it might be a good idea to find a cheap-ish dedicated tow rig to use when the need arises, instead of trying to maximize output of a blower engine. Probably spend about the same either way here :/ but you would also be adding another vehicle to the fleet… sooo 🤷🏼‍♂️

Do you have upgraded cams? My crower Stage1 cams added a very noticeable amount of tq (when it was na). Maybe some cams and 4.10’s are the answer?
 
I didn't know that he was blown already. If that is the case. Is the blower capable of enough air flow with the larger displacement?
