Anyone know how to remove the full center console?

Can anyone tell me how to remove the full center console or at least the top part of it? I just bought sirius satellite and want to mount it in the empty space under the radio. I would like to run the wires into the console and also permanently tap into the 12v outlet wires internally so no wires are noticeable. Hopefully I can remove the top part and do all the work that way.



Also, what would be the best route to run the antenna wire up and out of the 3rd brake light?

I assume your talking about the silver part? You just have to pull at it hard. Its held on by clips.

There's 3 bolts holding it down. They are located under the rubber mat at the bottom of the storage compartment under the armrest. Then I believe you can pull it back & up.

Thanks guys. Looking from the pictures in the project it looks like I will only need to remove the top, silver, piece. As long as I can access the power and hide the wires I shouldn't have to remove the entire consile. Maybe I will ge lucky.

I know I had mine out last year to replace the rubber flooring, and ever since, it 'rattles'...

If you need to just remove the top of the console, pull up HARD from the rear cup holder (just in front of the console). About the time you think nothing will happen, it will lift. There are 2 tabs at the front, one on each side, that keep the front in, but they will come up easily.



You'll see the wires you need easily.

Thanks again for the help. I was able to remove the top part of the console easily and I do have access to the wires and everything I need. I already ran the antenna and temporarily mounted the radio and I just need to pick up some wire taps from radioshack to finish the project. It was a lot easier than I thought and it looks very professional imo.

George: seal the heck out of the 3rd brake light when you run that antenna lead through there. Many members got leaks if they didn't seal it up good.

Thanks Darin. I was able to make a little notch for the antenna wire to pass through and the light is sitting flush but it can't hurt to put a little silicone around it.
