Two people have the opportunity to end this, no guns involved. The result of this thread is sad; we came in with some hope and then...

Well, that changes everything. Since it's an off topic board...

Wow Hugh, I'm at a loss for words! I feel like I used to after a great big doobie!

Yeah, this is the off topic board.

Now we need a 'I ain't happy unless I'm acting like an a-hole and I do it here because my wife won't let me speak at home" board, accessible to only a select few!:bwahaha::bwahaha::cheeky::cheeky::eek:fftopic::back2topic::toilet::banana::grin:

Hi TJR,

No my response wasn't directed to anyone specific. As you can see I advocate gun ownership so I end up discussing it with a lot of different people. Unfortunatly it is one of those topics that cause people to start name calling and making assumptions about people who do (or don't) support gun ownership.

My goal is to present myself as a rational owner who doesn't come across as the stereotypical macho.

I also tend to stick to the subject so I don't 'watch' for certain people and purposely agree or disagree with them.

And I remind myself all of the time it's just the internet. But basically, with me, you pretty much get on line what you would in person. I know a lot of folks who are jerks behind a keyboard but in person they really are pretty okay folks.

I am not sure what the deal is with the guys here that can't seem to stop going after each other but it is rather toxic to the board.

But, again, I don't have to join th party... :haveabeer:

I like how you equate with a party. It only takes two guys to bring down a whole party. It can go from a real shindig to dead in no time flat.

And Steve,

:bwahaha: No comment.

There are a few toxic members here. Bill claims I caused him to get banned years ago, but can not prove it. Because of this, he always tries to discredit me. Ultimately it will lead to him getting banned again.

Bill Barber said:
Can you prove you did not?

Actually, it is very hard, and some say actually impossible to prove a negative.

It is easy to prove that one did something, but very hard if not impossible to prove that they did NOT do something.

Do a google search on: logical fallacy, and on: proving a negative

But, I agree with JDBoxes, time to kiss and make up, guys!

If Bill back off of his "I hate Caymen" comments on almost everything he posts, I have no problem. Personally I have never though Bill was a bad guy, but he has been more and more direct to me as time goes on.

As Hugh said, you make a statement and someone has to prove you wrong. I said I carry my gun 99.9% of the time, I assume it is understood that 99.9% of the time it is legal for me to do so. I say I invite those that almost killed Eddies brother-in-law to my house to try it, I get called a vigilante. Break into my home while I am here and see what happens. Maybe I will get killed defending myself, maybe I won't. I will defend myself and I refuse to be a victim.

Not attacking you Caymen, but I think this mindset is all wrong. Inviting people to come rob you just so you can prove that you are prepared to kill them is not the mindset of a person that needs to be carrying a gun. I am all for home and self defense. I am taking my CCW class next saturday. I have a 12 gauge beside my bed and a 20 gauge in the closet. But I hope to God that I never have to shoot them at anything other than some clays.
