Arm rest cracking????

Got in the ST today, been awhile since I let DW drive it to work and I drive the Merc because it gets better mileage, but I noticed a nice crack/tear in the center console armrest, about 3/4 inch long. Has anyone replaced one of these and what did it cost?



edit: Just found the price...155.00 OUCH!!!

The SportTrac armrest is a major improvement over the Ranger/B4000 POS that cracked big-time in its structure. At least a person can rest his arm on the ST armrest without it caving into the console.

issue with our '01. I hadn't seen the repair kit linked above. Think I'll check it out.

I have the same problem with my 02, and I only have 25,000 miles on it. guess I will also check it out.

Thanks for the link. I emailed him and asked if he would sell just the armrest piece. If not, I may try to find some pleather or leather the same color as the seats and recover it, if I cant find one in a salvage yard.

Just got an email back on that ebay offer.... he wants 95.00 for the arm rest itself. The kit does not include the "pad".



I'm going to try the local pick-n-pull..... and the internet.

Scot, mine is tan vinyl, I have the prarie tan leather seats. I'll look for a grey for ya....



When Kevin gets back, I'll see what he can find, I sent a query to a online used parts place, will see what they come up with.
