Went outside this morning and noticed some pine straw sticking out from under the headlight housing. Popped the hood and pulled the lights out and discovered this:

No eggs, no bird, so I pulled it all out and tossed it on the ground. Maybe I've finally found a reason to replace my grille...

hahahah nice Jeff.. I've got a lizard issue. I've had lizards on gauge cluster, on the TB cover, one even rode on the hood while I was driving.

I park under a car port. I see house spiders sometimes on the outside. Never found one inside. I dont like spiders.

Found a bunch of tiny piss ants in the bottom of the console once. That was mysterious. A little spray got'em.

Yeah it was till he went suicidal... He ran to the front and tried to jump off but the wind caught him and he smacked my windshield and went over the roof. The thump sound startled me. :lol:

Wouldn't that be more like behind the headlights, not the engine bay ????

:rolleyes::rolleyes:

years ago, i noticed a mouse nest in my escort engine bay.

about the same time, my neighbor had a mouse nest in his barbacue. how do you tell them your not hungry next time they fire that baby up :lol:

I found a bird nest in the air filter box of my wife's old Grand Am. Don't know if it got built there or got sucked up in.

I've seen on animal planet animal police (flipping throught the channels) some guy had a snake in his truck and I think another person had a small alligator under their truck

One winter two or three years ago, both my Sport Trac and my wife's former Explorer had mice take up residence in the air filters. Shredded the paper in the filters--made a big mess...

I had a spider build a web in my Trac's bed last night. I was amazed to see him still there 60 miles later! His web was a little tattered, but still there.

When I lived in northern Ohio, it was common for pheasants, raccoons, and other critters, even cats to crawl into the engine compartment in the winter time to keep warn afte te engine was turned off and was still warm. You would crank up your engine in the morning and you would hear all kinds of crazy noises, with fethers or fur flying and when you opened you hood you an blood and guts all over the engine compartment.

I had a cat under the hood once. You're right, it does make a big racket when they get caught in the belts and the fan, and then the thumping under the car...it surprised the heck out of me.

Regarding the folks with nests under the hood -- you don't drive enough. A rolling stone gathers no moss, and a rolling car gathers no critters...except on the windshield :lol:

My dad killed my Mom's siamese cat when he started his old GMC pickup several years ago. The cat wasn't immediately killed- Dad had to finish the job with a shovel. It made quite a mess- the truck's serpentine belt was wound around everything and tore up some wiring, and he had to have it towed.
