I am going to be picking up my new 07 ST V-8 with tow option next week, and was wondering if it comes with a harness built in to plug an electronic brake controller into. I tried asking the salesman, however; he was unsure (typical).

I will be towing a Fleetwood Cheyenne Pop-Up (also picking up next week) and was thinkning of getting the Tekonsha Prodigy Brake Controller.....Any opinions?

Thanks

Gordi

Yes, your ST will come with the brake controller wiring harness that plugs in under the dash. It's usually either in the glove box, the passenger side door compartment or under the front seat.

I highly recommend the Draw-Tite Activator II brake controller. It has a lifetime warranty and it will operate up to 8 trailer brakes. It retails for about $69.

The Tekonsha Prodigy is by far the best controller out there. With it inertia activated system, you never have to worry about not having enough braking power when in panic stops or too much during light braking. I went with the Draw-Tite Actuator III, simply because I was able to install the controller under the radio, then I could connect the hand held part whenever I need it.

I am soooooo exited aboout picking up the ST.

I will have to make some calls tomorrow to see if anyone has a plug and play harness to hook up the controller.

Caymen........

Thanks, that would be great. I ordred a pigtail with the controller.....it is supposed to be for a Ford, hopefully it will fit. I will let you know.

Thanks again

Did you mount the Prodigy? Where did you mount it? I had a Tekonsha Voyager on my last tow vehicle, but will be putting a Tekonsha P3 on my Sport Trac.
