Brief Rough Running 01

I have an 01 with 57,500 miles on it. The other day I started up at the local BJs and the engine ran very rough, would not maintain RPMs, wanted to die when I put it in gear and finally did just die. Up until that point the vehicle has run perfectlly for the past 5 years. I waited about 5 minutes and restarted the engine. Guess what....it ran perfectly and still is...not even a hicup.......Any ideas on what happened.....I have serviced it every 3K miles since I bought it new and the 60K service will be performed at the right time.......I suspect that some "compute" chip malfunctioned and then reset itself??????

Clean and lube the IAC motor. My st did this at only 6K miles, I cleaned the iac, It has never happened again...

I had to replace my iddle control valve,it did the same thing. Mine is an 01' with about 80k on it .Cost was around 200 bucks.

I suspect you hadone of the frak moments that ECM's go thru every now and then.



That said, it is time to clean your IAC as well.



Easy job to do ams worth the end result vs. the effort.
