Like a dummy and I've done this before with breaking it I was leaning oon the center console armrest and I broke it. The hinged part underneath snapped and broke the arm rest.

What are my options? I figure of course the dealership could replace it but I want to know if there are other options - or cheaper I'm sure it's not cheap. Even a replacement of that folding arm rest / bag. I don't know what all after market products are out there for the truck.

It's a 2005 Sport track. I can post pics if needed.

Thanks for any pointers.

$50 may seem expensive, however, it will be the last one you will ever need to replace. Bulletproof. :fire:

Hey swshawaii, I assume you bought one of those center console "bracket" repair kits???

If so, is it a perfect fit (made for the Sport Trac gen.1 "upgraded model" console without the bag)?

Also, how thick is the metal bracket? Is it strong and durable?

Thanks for the info and link too!:supercool:

There is 1 for sale in the S&S

Blac- I believe your upgraded console is different, armrest is shorter.

Approximate dimensions of the metal repair bracket is 15.5 x 5.5 inches.

This bracket is very heavy guage but probably too large for yours. Anyone know?

Another option for the bag type console that eliminates the slide out cup holders.

Will the one from rock auto work on a 2005 sport trac? It says for year 1999-2002. The same questions goes for the first response too. That solution is for a 1999 to 2001.

Thanks!

Jason- I have a 2005 with the bag console. Perfect fit, and very strong.

Remove the pivot bolt with a hack saw, after prying off the black cap.
