Usually don’t like to post negative things on any board, but I’ve recently had a bad experience with one of our sponsors. I feel that I gave this person ample time to solve this issue and in turn advised him that I would bring it to the attention of this board.

I ordered a couple of parts, sun-roof deflector and rear window deflector off this company and paid as soon as requested. When these items arrived it was quite apparent that the box they shipped them in was quite flimsy and upon my inspection of the items both pieces were broken.

I then contacted the company and asked for a refund, as stated they were not new parts but had normal wear and these were now broken up.The company then refunded $45 half of the original cost, if either of these parts were useable I thought this would be fair but the rear window deflector part no. did not match with the part for a Sport Trac.

So both parts are totally unusable, I then requested a full refund and that the parts could be sent back to them at there expense, still have not heard back from them.

If you could go to my library pics you can see the packaging and broken items.

Would rather have not been forced to post this but Hypnotic Illusions gave me no other choice.

Shawn,

I am a certified packing specialist and the items you recieved were not packed to shipping specs by no means. The visor should of been wrapped in 1/2 inch bubble wrap, and the boxes were not properly telescoped. Personally, I think you should get a full refund from them. Newspaper is not proper packing material, nor is that recycled box they used. Did you have the items insured? -Heather

I'm confused...

1. Did the shipping company damage it?

2. Not the same part #. Ford would have a different part # than an aftermarket part. From what I can see from pics the part IS the correct part. Did you match it up with the back window to see if the part is the correct one?

3. How long has it been since you last contacted him?

4. Posting this on an open forum solves what?

It gets attention. Personally, although we're only seeing one side, I think he's entitled to all of his money back. Should've been packed properly, should've been insured, and regardless if it's broken or not the rear window deflector isn't the correct part. Then HypIll can collect from the shipper.

JQ - I agree with you as well as Heather assessment. Over package the item is always better than to have to go through with filing a claim with the shipper. However, what we don't know is Wayne's side of the story and there is no information on how long ago the last follow up was.

i agree that you deserve a full refund for wkhat ever was damaged. but I am confused? If only one of the parts was broken, perhaps the $45 refunded was for the cost of the broken part only?

We these parts supposed to be new? It sounds like you said they were new, but the company said they were used? What company said that, the seller's company or the shipper?

Since the piece broken off the visor was in the box, it would appear that the shipper damaged the product, but it appears that it was poorly packed and the shipper probably would not pay.

Your posting is not very clear other than you got damaged merchandise that was obviously poorly packed, I don't know what the other item is that looks like a venitian blind?

Perhaps your complaint to the seller was as clear as this posting about it and they thought the $45 refund was sufficient to cover the broken Item/s

Heather that is about what I had said to them, but they insisted it was packaged properly.

Confused, USPS and Canada Post handled this package, though they probably did not treat it with the delicate nature of a box of this shape should have been.

The part no. on this Ventshade is 93429 and from their web site they referred it as a Ford 150 shade.

And yes after I glued the broken piece back on I did try it for fit and it did not fit.

My last e-mail to him was Wed 18th Jan the items were purchased Dec 19th 05.

Posting on this open form is first to inform others that may purchase product from this company to insure that it is packaged properly and that it is about the only way a person can vent his frustration

In hopes it will protect a future customer of theirs.

Frank,

Working for Fedex you should know that if the items doesn't meet packing specs, the shipping company will deny the claim. The items needed to have a minumum of 2 inches of cushioning between the item and the side of the box. Air and newspaper, don't count as proper packing materials. -Heather

SeattleSportTrac,

I have had many things shipped through Can Post and USPS that were a lot larger and just as delicate not once when packed properly did they arrive damaged.

Yes Heather the Can Post rep.stated that very same thing, claim denied!

I'm interested to hear what WFoy has to say about this. Does he wrap the programming chips better than this?

Everyone makes mistakes, but how they deal with things afterwards is the measure of a man.

First time I hear something negative about Wayne's service.

There's always 2 sides to a story, however, he has the right to keep his side of the story from the public eye.

Hey Shawn, I bought my rear vent visor at advanced auto parts, $92.00 and my side ones at walmart in the states for $41.00 US $.

I am in burlington, and if you are looking for some silver rear tail lights, I have a set will sell to you for $175.00. I am often downtown and can hook up with you if you are interested.

I have purchased several items from Wayne and all I can say was that communication was great. They were well packaged. If the package was insured a claim should be submitted.

Posting this info here serves a couple purposes. One, it allows the writer to vent is frustration. Secondly, it acts as a warning to others who may be considering the same items from the same source. If Wayne is the stand-up guy every one claims he is (and there's no reason to think otherwise) then he will make this right.

A man's true character is shown under adversity. It's easy to do the right thing when everything goes well. It's what a man does when things go wrong that defines his character.

That packaging is totaly unexceptepal..keep us posted..the crrier did the damage, but the box had no rigidity...

I know that everything I have ever received from Wayne had air pillows in the boxes.. I don't see any.. Does it look like the boxes where opened by someone???

Also those used parts came off his Sport trac, I can see them on his truck in the pics in his library...

Third. Did any one request or not request shipping insurance???

Forth, Those boxes look like random tech exhaust boxes, those are strong boxes... Looks like to me the shipper broke them knowing there was no insurance on them, and did not care..

It sucks, I know I would be ticked, But the parts did come off a st...

The rear guard sticks on the OUTSIDE of the window trim not in the channel like the sides..
