Can anyone identify this part?

This piece of 10" black felt material fell out from behind the glove compartment. (I was back there getting my keyless remote code off the module). Doesn't seem to fit anywhere, and it's driving me crazy! Any ideas?

By the way the Sport Trac Web Site is great! Just Bought a 2003 ST last week. (I traded in my 1999 Ranger and my 2001 VW Cabrio in the deal). So far, thanks to this site, I've found my remote code, replaced a missing lock clip on the tonneau, and replaced the shocks with Monroe Reflexes. Looking forward to contributing in the future.

First of all, Welcome to a great site and a great bunch of people.

We have our differences, but we have a one "TRAC" mind....:lol:

It look like the piece of felt in the bottom of my console. Maybe the previous owner had it stored in the glove box, and it fell out the backside....

Fast Eddie,

You were right. The part was the liner for the bottom of the console. How it got behind the dash, - who knows..

WELCOME to the site...

What probably happened is the previous owner removed the felt for some reason, and threw it in the glove box, and because of the small glove box, when it was full the felt thing was probably pushed behind the dash....
