My check engine light come on yesterday. '01 with 72K miles. Code printout says:

DTC Codes

P0171 system too lean (bank1)

P0174 system too lean (bank2)

P0171 system too lean (bank1)

P0174 system too lean (bank2)

DTC Pending Codes

P0300 random/multiple cylinder misfire detected

P0300 random/multiple cylinder misfire detected



Truck started idling rough and almost shaking and surging during idle.

Check vacumn elbow behind EGR valve, and look in Todd Z's library he has a picture of the location.

I should have known better. The elbow has a big crack right on the top. ( I guess I was distracted by the leaking radiator hose!)

171 ans 174 are almost always this hose. Causes a HUGE issue if you don't know better. I would like 5 dollars for every time this site has saved the repair bill for that one alone...
