people keep explaining how to clean the MAF sensor, and im not quite sure what ther saying, but they say it's easy, I'm more of a hands on and lokking person, does anyone please wanna do a project on it!:)

Why would you need to clean your MAF sensor? It's pretty unlikely that it'll be dirty unless you've been running your car without an air filter or something silly like that.

I thought the same thing, but I do remember someone saying that the oil from a K&N can coat the 'workings' in the MAF.

Hmm, I guess that's possible. Rather unlikely though, unless you are really caking the oil on there. If you still feel that you need to (or just want to), you might do a search on google. Google is your friend. ;)

I've heard 2 versions of this:

open the maf and spray intake cleaner from a distance across the wires, let dry.

remove the MAF section of the intake, seal off one end with saran wrap, pour in an ounce or 2 of alcohol, swish gently, empty, allow to dry.

I have yet to do either one since I'm chicken $h!t, and really have no reason to.

I'll bet'cha dollars to donuts that your MAF sensor doesn't need cleaning anyway, so you're going to waste the 5 minutes. ;)

Just the air passing over the coils will make it dirty over time...

Any oiled filter can dirty it, or just driving in normal conditions. The air filter will not trap all the particles, and yes, some of them will get hung up on the Maf coils..

The Maf on the ST measures the temperature and amount of air being brought into the engine..

Even if it doesn't need cleaning, I would recommend it to eliminate any problems..
