difference in keys from year to year

I am looking into getting a third key for my 2001 st and the ones on ebay that say they are for the 2001 look nothing like the key I use everyday to start my truck. The key advertised as for 02-05 look exactly like what I use. I don't want to waste time and money getting something that won't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's probably an obvious answer to an obvious question situation but you guys(and gals) know more about the st than I do. Will the key for the 02-05 st fit a 2001 st?

I also am pretty sure they are all the same. I'd contact the seller and see if the picture he included is an actual picture or confirm exactly what the key is...

The keys are all the same from 2001/2/3. They are a transponder key, key blank number job1= H72-PHT (before 7/24/00) or a 599144 ford key after 7/24/00
