HELP!! Is there any way I can re-do it so I can't see the tape?! I'm thinking of screwing it on.

I just taped it, and used the black rubber liner along the bottom of the black plastic plate in front. I put 2 tubesands on top overnight, and now I can't get it off the hood!! I like the overall look, I just don't like that I can see the tape and the gap around the entire scoop...

David's idea with the fishing sounds good. I have mine taped and screwed. If you screw yours on, be very careful when you drill. The holes in the template DO NOT match the pre-drilled holes in the scoop. Measure 3 times, drill once.

Maybe you put the tape too far out on the outside edge, I would still do both. Get some new tape and try it again, good luck, Gary.

Ahhh,,,, I drilled mine on, but then again, mine is not a EE scoop.. :D

Larry,

If you decide to redo it, you can try what I did. After applying the new tape to the bottom of the scoop - before you install it to the hood - use some Ford color-matched touchup paint to dress up the edge of the tape that will show. It takes about 2 or 3 coats to get complete coverage, but it's fairly easy to do. It just takes a steady hand and a little patience. The tape barely shows after that.

Like David said, the tape will hold it on by itself. Believe me, after you try removing the scoop, you'll see why you never have to worry about the scoop coming off in the wind.

Good luck.

For now, I ran a bead of black silicone around the gap. It looks alot better, but I still have some finishing work to do.

Thanks for the suggestions, if I can't get the silicone to work the way I want, I'll try your suggestions!

Larry,

if you are going to take it off, do it as soon as possible. The longer it's on there the harder it is to get the tape off the hood. The tape will tear and leave half on the hood and half on the scoop when you yank it. Took me about 12 hours and 3 weeks of bachache to get mine off. Used Goo Gone, and just about everything I could think of.

good luck
