I finally got my EGR fender flares painted! I installed them yesterday after a nice wash job! I took this pic along with the others in my library today(the ones with the fender flares)! I can truly say they look better in person than in pics! Also they look better than the medium titanium grey cladding color! I had them painted this week the same color as my ST, deep wedgewood blue. Looks great!

LOOKS good, How about the cladding next??

Not really a good idea after all in my opinion. Over time, with the texture of the cladding, the paint will start to chip due to poor adhesion with the texture of the primer applied. The bumpers will have to be sanded, practically ruined, and then applied with primer/paint. Sanding the cladding could and will promote to deformaties in the plastic, making craters, dips, etc. I decided to just leave it original after all. So what? You saying my Trac isn't good enough for the site now? No, just kidding!!!!! I like the look it has. Other than the consequences of prepping and painting the cladding, I would go full force with it and paint it besides that. Thanks for the reply! DDST

DDST,

I painted my 03 cladding... No sanding, no heavy prep work, just a good adhesion promoter and 5-6 coats of paint... and you guessed it... No texture and 2 years so far with no pealing paint... I even was hit in a parking lot, and simply sanded it out....

I will be willing to help you out if you choose to do it...

And keep up the good work on the St !!

DDST,

I would take Todd's advice. In fac t I did take his advice on how to paint the cladding. I just painted my cladding after 2 years of wear and it came out great.
