There are some aftermarket brands. That are as good or better than OEm.

The names escape my memory right now. Might want to do some research.

Mike,

Four seasons is a well known company. Been around forever. One that escaped my memory..LOL. I dont think you can go wrong.

Mikerobe,

Boy, do you have a big job ahead of you. I replaced the evaporator core in an old 1986 Dodge Caravan, and it was not any fun..

One whole day to take the dash apart and get the old evaporator out, and another whole day to install the new one and put the dash back together. Then I still had to take it to an AC shop to recharge the AC unit.

I think the AC shop wanted $1200 to do the whole job which included a new evaporator cored ($400+) I bought an aftermarket unit for about $200 and I think the recharge was about $100.

...Rich

Richard L,

Fortunately the evaporator on the ST is located in a plastic housing which can be removed from the engine compartment. It'll still take some doing, but its easier than some others I've seen such as your 86 Caravan.

Michael.
