I have several years experience in installing audio systems. I have a head unit that feeds signal to an ampilfier thru RCA lines. When I turn off the ignition, I sometimes get this short rasberry feedback sound a couple of seconds after the key is turned.

I think this might be because of a bad ground, but I have used the one for the amp before with not problems. So it could be the head unit. in looking back thru the wirng diagrams I noticed that there is a small ground wire for the radio ground on pin 11, and a large ground wire for the Power Audio Amp on pin 16. This is one the factory wiring harness. I am pretty sure I am using pin 11.

Any thought would help.

Depending on the type of amp, removing power will cause the capacitors to discharge. This will cause a surge through the amp power ICs, which causes the noise. Without the amp specifics, it is almost impossible to figure out.
