oh yes with the excpetion of the FR-S they are having issues with a stale product.

still doesn't take away the toyota reliability and quality build factor.

on a side note:

Yes those numbers were a surprise to me. I never considered that China would make that many vehicles....I can post the link (if you want), but then you said..."Without any Links"



I can't speak to the brand loyalty of the Chinese cars, since I have no idea what brand of cars they make...:grin: Not sure anybody in the US knows....which brings up an interesting point.



A few years ago, the USA auto makers were complaining that China was not letting them compete on a level playing field and that it was difficult to penetrate the auto market in China. Maybe I am wrong, but what do the US auto makers consider a evel playing field? I am not aware of any Chinese vehicles being sold in the USA?

According to Wikipedia, more than half of China's manufactured cars are the same you'll find here - GMs, Hondas, Toyotas, etc. Many auto manufacturers build locally to avoid import taxes, to reducing production costs; the usual financial savings suspects. Most of those are sold in China, but exports do happen.

I agree that most of those vehicles are probably brands that we are familiar with here in the US, but without knowing the number of each brand produced in China, I would not claim to be an authority on the subject



I know that many vehicles that are assumed to be American, German or Japanese brands are manufactured in numerous countries. I know that my Mercedes was made in Germany, but they also have a factory in South Africa. I had a Honda Accord that was made in Ohio. It makes it rather confusing as to what really constitutes an American vehicle vs a foreign vehicle. Even American brand vehicles often have the majority of their parts made overseas, and just assembled in the US.



The article surprised me that China manufactured twice the vehicles than Japan, and that USA was ranked way down in 6th place? I never suspected that Germany S.Korea or even India would make more cars than the USA, and never considered India in the top 10..:banghead:

Are you relying on a play of words to try and insult me? I never argued the original article that it was bogus. I simply said it was a face that Ford, not Toyota in your world, has the most repeat buyers. I never insulted Toyota one time.



It was Richard L that continued to argue that the article was bogus, had not bearing, and quentioned the reason the article, or survey, was ever taken. it was Richard L. that admitted he NEVER read the article and said his computer wouldn't even pull the article up.



I read the article. I read every page.
