Last night as I was waiting to pick a buddy up at work, I turned the ignition off and left the key in the ignition. When I went to start it up again, the alarm beeped, all the doors locked, and I couldn't start the ST. I turned the ignition to off, removed the key, re-inserted the key, and it started. However, the security light flashes twice in rapid succession every few seconds, and the remote start will not operate. Has anyone experienced this, and does anyone know how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

The anti theft module acted up. You may have to lock and unlock the doors using the key pad or factory key fob to reset it....

I had this happen 1 time..

I tried unlocking and locking the door using the keypad, as well as with the fob. Neither did the trick.

When I hold down the remote start button, the alarm chirps twice and does not lock the doors. Any other thoughts?

Is there a hood switch or tailgate switch, make sure they are shut properly. Just throwin ideas out there to see what sticks. I had a Santa Fe. The little rubber bumper that pushes the alarm switch down fell off under the hood. The hood of course shut properly. It took forever to diagnose that problem.

The system has been restored to normal operation. I unlocked the door with the keypad, started the ignition, turned the ignition off, removed the key, re-inserted the key, and started it up again. That solved the issue. Thanks to all who replied!
