this april my mom passed away from lung cancer at the age of 64. My parents were married for 40 years. For my dad's birthday at the beginning of may, we entered his 1953 ford f-100 into the ford supernationals in carlisle pa. i have added a pic to my folder. he has had the truck for 30 years and started the street rod conversion 20 years ago. The primer has been on for 10 years, the last time it was washed was 7 years ago. needless to say it has not seen a lot of attention lately, so we were not trying to wow anyone. Hell the interior is an old lincoln bench seat. There is no interior.

I went with my youngest son, it is the first time I have seen my dad smile since he lost his best friend. It is amazing how a car can impact a person. My dad enjoyed his time talking, watching, and cruising. He is going to start spending time getting the truck ready for next year.

As an aside, we have put together a team to raise money for lung cancer for the philly marathon - i have never run 13 miles, but what the hell. If you would like to donate, that would be great.

sorry to hear about your mom.

believe me, you think of her everyday.

nice to see that your dad was able to have a nice diversion from his pain.

good luck with your run and i will donate in memory of mom.

keep your head up

hey gary - i would really appreciate that. that's not why i posted but anything you can do for lung cancer research i appreciate. I know that's not what this board is all about. The amazing part is what a car can do for someone's soul.
