2010 STA HIGH PERFORMANCE BRAKES. I currently have a company in Phoenix building up a Killer WILWOOD performance / show brake kit for my STA. 15” Front Rotors (Aero6 Cal), 14” Rear rotors (4 piston). I will post photos, brake bias #’s, What to Avoid and current cost once completely installed. I can wait to put my Paws 🐾 on this Hardware. There is currently some Supply issues at the manufacture, so install date might be August, Booooo.

There is a set of custom brackets out there and the mustang kit bolts on.... 1 small rotor machining and brake line adaptor and your done!! but id still like to see their finished product...
 
From what I’ve learned, The biggest Bummer is that the REAR steering knuckles on the ST’s are not the bolt on caliper style. Now, this isn’t the worst thing in the world, cause it only takes minor machining (which the brake shop does in the pre building of the kit) to convert the rear Steering knuckle to a bolt on style caliper. Once this mod is done it allows you to retain the OE P-Brake and increase to a larger rotor size. It’s going to be a few months before I get the rear brake system installed, due to supply chain issues. I’ll post photos and info once I receive parts.

Holy Billet Block of Beauty. 500% OCD right there starring back at you. That boys got some TALENT.
 
The first pic was the cast stock knuckle after the slide ears were cut off, the third pic was a look to see how or what would be needed to adapt some kind of caliper mount.
The truth is the stock wheel brgs are at best crap and would not handle 900hp? And that’s where this STA is going.
 
I wanted to use the GT350r Brembos front and rear and with my disc from Ford they were easy on the wallet, the billet knuckle was the only way to get factory rotors,caliper,E-brake,and the big/best thing a bolt on replaceable big horsepower wheel brg off the same mustang and a bonus was they come with 14 mm studs instead of 1/2 inch.
I installed the GT350r 3.73 Torsen diff up 2 inches do to lowering the truck 2-3 inches and the need to keep the axels as flat as I could. The stainless steel zip ties are holding everything at the new ride height Just to check.
p.s. this is just a jig so I can hack an wack and get it perfect on the real thing.

This looks great. Assuming we would just be waiting on the August install date for brake bias numbers, is there any concerns with the factory proportioning?

Also, will there being any wheel clearancing needed? Below is a 2005-2009 V6 mustang conversion from 11” f&r to 14” f&r we did last month. We hade install custom rear brackets and space the front wheels out 7mm due to the size of the front calipers. We contemplated putting Adrenalin wheels on the mustang, but they seemed to have the same front clearance problem.

I think the after market should have a rear 2 or 4 piston kit for the rear of mustang,
the 15.5 front and 15 rear did require a wheel change I wanted to change the 20 inch to a fordged wheel anyway. The Adrenalin wheels might fit the 14 inch caliper and rotor, but would not even come close on the 350r and with the power the wheel had to be hub centric and no spacers. I used new 05 aviator aluminum knuckles and reamed the tie rod hole. That gave me a lot of caliper clearance to the knuckle. As a side note they weigh the same as the stock parts.

Jeff S made a rear set work too.... I have the front brackets to make the welwood mustang fronts fit ill probably sell soon....
 
10’ STA Rear Brake Update.
Just received the newly machined OEM rear knuckles from TCE Performance, with TCE brackets for Wilwood Forged Superlite Narrow 4R with OEM hat E-Brake setup. I’ll attach install photos asap.

TCE Performance rebuilt your rear knuckles? They look great! I need new knuckles as I live in rust/ salt country!

I purchased a Brand New set of OEM rear knuckle assemblies complete with backing plates, hubs, e-brake pads and bearings from Toms Auto Parts in Phoenix. They were hand delivered to TCE Performance Products in Tempe Solely to build me a set of One Off rear knuckles (right & Left) that accommodate a Wilwood rear brake kit.
For those that are not real familiar with the ST rear knuckle design, the OEM rear brake Caliper is not a Bolt On bracket design. This is a huge Buzz Killer if your wanting to add a performance braking system.

My bias is about 66/34.
15” front with a SX6 caliper (Wilwood).
14” rear with a FNSL4 caliper (Wilwood).
Driller /Slotted rotors.
P-Brake hats.
I have zero clearance issues with the wheel setup I’m running (+35 offset / 20x9).

Hello Gearheads,
I apologize for the delay in the Wilwood rear brake install. As I mention in a past post, buying an aftermarket high performance brake kit to my knowledge is unavailable for the GEN2 STA. Also due to the rear knuckle being a non-bolt on caliper bracket, that adds another wrinkle to the rear brake upgrade.

Here we have it. TCE Performance machined a brand new set of rear knuckles for me to except Caliper Brackets, Wilwood calipers, Hats & Rotors. Another added bonus the OEM E-brake is also still retained with this upgrade. Once I started the rear install I quickly learned how much engineering actually had to be done by Todd at TCE Performance Products to make this install virtually seamless and beautiful once installed.

That is a very nice job well done. I spent more than 26 years in 2 Ford dealer ships I can appreciate the workmanship you and TCE Performance have done. And I am sure it stops very well also.
