Anyone know what size the socket is for the nuts? My largest socket (3/4-inch) isn't big enough! Also, I am missing the third bolt set, and a spacer. All I received was the hitch, and no additonal hardware. What else may I need?

This is what looks like the last warm day of the year, and I am trying to get this on today.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Nelson,

I am very sorry I can't help. I am changing plugs on my dad's Taurus and my Trac is at his house. I have the taurus with me. If I had it out there, I would get you the size. Hopefully someone out there can help you.

Sorry man, I am really sorry about that.

No problem Tom. I am looking online for a new socket set. I guess I'll go to Lowes and see what I can find that has bigger sizes. I'd rather just get one socket, but this way I can take bigger advantage of the 10% veterans discount this weekend.

I guess I found a silver lining in my gray cloud. :D

7/8" socket. I bought a bigger socket set for $20, which I am sure will come in handy in the future. I also had to buy two 2" by 1/2" bolt, nut and washer sets. I eyeballed the sizes and hit it right on. I managed to do it with no assistant, so that makes me feel pretty good. :D

I just got finished installing my OEM hitch. IT HAS METRIC NUT AND BOLTS. The ones on the truck originally were 21mm and the replacements with the hitch are 22mm, I think.

I guess the 7/8" was close enough. I noticed it a bit, but didn't feel like going back to Lowes again. I was able to tighten things down as much as I wanted, so it was a very good fit. :)
