Ok guys,

It's been a while since I have been on and my long style 01 consol looks rougher than ever.

DOesnt everyone have the same old problem I do? The consols in these tracs get scratched up almost the day you buy them. They look like "heck" to put it mildly.

It seems to me that everyone on this site would want a molded kit around the radio group and the long center consol around the drink holders. The company that produced it has vertualy limitless customers on this site alone. I know I cant be the only one wioth this issue.

If anyone knows where I can get the molded kit for these two areas please let me know. I have grey interior lether so I prefer the grey burlwood some people call it silver or platnum burl wood. The brown woods look better in the tan interiors.

Oh yea if anyone has pics of ther consol kits please post. I have already done a search on the site post without much luck for info or project pics.

Thanks

Take a look at Larry Phillips' console. It's really neat-looking. The inside of his trac is by far the coolest I've seen.

Thanks for the plug, Baron. :D

I just painted mine. (with Mirage colorshifting paint)

If you're still looking for a dash kit, here's what Ann Brezina has in her ST. The link below is where to get it.

Try Exotic Wood Dash. If you search their site for 2000 Rangers, and 2000 Explorers, as well as your Sport Trac, you will find that you can buy the individual pieces that fit the Radio Bezel and the Center Console.

I have the molded real wood parts that fit around the instruments and the Radio Bezel. I may get the part for the long console that fits around the cup holders and storage bin. Prices vary if you want real wood, simulated wood, molded or flat pieces.

Good Luck

Scott,

Wooden dash boards have been around since the first cars were made and are still used on many sport and luxury vehicles today. It is very traditional and will likely never go out of style unless we run out of trees and simulated trees :D

I personally don't like the carbon fiber trim often used in todays cars, but on some vehicles it fits the styling better than wood. One of the best trim I like is "Engine turned metal" but it's very expensive and hard to find, but I'm sure someone can make simulated engine-turned metal trim panels.

I find that the brown wood tones fit better with the Tan interior than they do with the grey interior, although the Silver/Grey drift wood looks good with the grey interior.
