I have an 01 ST and coming up on 86K. I've never held onto a vehicle this long but glad I did because this truck hasn't given me a single problem! So far that is.. here's a few things that I'm getting lately. Back window is slow or doesn't move in the winter especially. Engine idles rough sometimes after first starting and after running. Chirping noise under the hood that goes away after running for a bit. Water Pump? Belts? Also.. for being such a great vehicle.. I'd like to buy my ST a tonneau cover for xmas. Can anyone recommend a good value?

Great news. Back window could be a bad ground or loosening electrical connection. The rough idle could be the IAC or a vacum hose that is a common problem under the throttle body cover. The chirping is probably a belt if you haven't changed them at all. As for the tonneau, if you want value click on the wrench next to my name and make your own for under $100.

Most of that is just age. Comes with the territory. But these days, 86k isn't a lot. Change all the fluids and motor on.

The rough idle was a hose. The quick lube boneheads that checked my air filter didn't re-insert the hose!
