Eh, I always wanted the Thrashers to do well being my home team and all, but I have only been to two hockey games in my life. They were both for the Gwinnett Gladiators, a semi-pro team. It was fun, but hockey just doesn't belong down here. Sad to see them go for those that cared, but for me it's a rather uneventful event.
It's all about the ownership. Put a crappy product on the ice, field or court in any sport and you can't survive no matter how big or small the market is.
Good luck to Winnipeg. From what I have read, they have challenges built in right off the bat, including an "undersized" arena holding only 15k when sold out.
