Rich,

Well spoken like the know all that you are.

You honeslty think I would invite them in? Are you freaken nuts. Break into my house and see what happens. It is nothing "big of me". I will protect my castle and my family.

I may die doing it, but I will not go down as a victim. I will defend myself.

Get back you your self worship. I am getting pertty sick and tired of your loud mouth ignorance while sitting at your computer waiting to start $4!t with me whenever you get a chance.

People like you ruin this website.

Tom

So DEA and FBI were "watching" the house next door??? Why weren't they DOING something about that house, instead of just WATCHING it???

I'd be so pissed at them right now if I were you or your family. If the DEA and FBI knew nothing about what was going on there, and this was a complete surprise, fine. But for them to KNOW there's an issue, and not do something about it until after this happens, is inexcusable.

And then people wonder why so many people in this country insist on taking the law into their own hands...

I absolutely APPLAUD that sense of taking care of onesself, of not requiring others to protect you from the evils and wrong-doing of those that would plot against you. That is what America is all about. Taking care of yourself. Not giving up that right, and assuming others will do for you. That we get our power from one, not from many, and not from others.

Oh, wait, everything I just said is anti-union.

Nevermind!

(just messing with you)

Caymen,

I never said that you should not defend yourself....I know I would try, but never the less you or I probably would have still been victims. My point was, that if you did not have the gun on you at that time of the break-in you would not have had time to get it, and the three guys would have quickly smothered you with punches and kicks, just like they did to Eddies Brother In Law.

It's your ridiculous statement about the fact that you have a gun and that you would invite them to come to your house is just another of your stupid absurd statements that you always make to puff yourself up that I will call you out on. And yes, I think you are just dumb enough to invite the criminals to your house so you could scare them with your gun. They may just come to your house to steal your gun and kick your ass...:btddhorse:

TJR,

Your point is well taken about if the time comes when you do not feel safe in your own home, then its time to move. I agree 100%. The problem is that criminals are going to neighborhoods where there is little or no crime and doing those home invasions so no home is really safe. We have several a year in the Waco suburbs and even in gated communities where there is very little crime. So it can happen anywhere.

Crack houses have also been found in nicer neighborhoods where crime is not a big problem, and Im sure Eddies brother in law had no idea that the house next door was under surveillance by DEA as a suspected drug house. So he may have felt perfectly safe. That always adds to the surprise when these things happen.

I have to agree with Richard L, in that if I were baby sitting my grandkids at their home I would not have a firearm any where near them; even if I had a permit to carry a concealed weapon. My grandchildren are way to curious, and would touch the gun without even asking.

The thieves in our area are way too smart. Someone broke into the house across the street from where my daughter lives in the middle of the day, and no one saw a thing. Personally it sounded like an inside job, but I never did hear whether they caught the thieves.

Bill,

Tell me how I got YOU banned. You can't. You assume I did something, but Rich banned you because of the way you acted.

I can't believe this is the direction this thread has taken.

Still praying, Eddie.

I'm not sure on the deadbolts and other locks. Most doors and doorframes are very wimpy these days. Seems like anyone could kick them in real easy. My doors would probably shatter, and the doorframes would likely shatter too, even with the long screws in the deadbolt latches.

I don't think anyone could easily protect themselves from something like Eddie's BIL experienced. If someone wants in, they are going to get in.

Tom

Back when you were richs boytoy you got alot of people knocked off this site.

We all know what you are capible of doing, and what you have done in the past.

Now be nice and GUNG HAY BOK CHOY:)

The pettiness of this argument really is an injustice to the seriousness of this thread.

Eddie, please let us know when there are any updates about the capture of these lowlifes. Until that time, I'm still praying for healing and peace for your family members.

I am very sorry to hear about what happened.

I do carry a firearm on me, even in my own home. I have no children at home but when friends visit (or I go to friends houses with children) I still have my firearm on me. It is the safest place for it. No curious child is going to get it out of my holster but a curious child may find a firearm laying around. And it would be all too easy to forget that you have a firearm that is accessible to a child when you don't normally have children at your house.

If I was baby sitting in a neighborhood that had those type of people I would have had my firearm on me. It is only by the grace of god he wasn't killed and the kids were not taken, raped or who knows what.

My neighborhood is a nice one. I feel safe in my house but stuff happens and it is better to be prepared for it.

Element of surprise is for the home owner who meets force with force. Someone breaking into you house is going to assume you are a sheep.

Don't fear the gun. Fear the criminal
