Hey Guys,

For all you guys out there that have done the TT/Shackle lift how much did it cost to get an alignment done after? and did you have to take it to a speciality shop?

Reason being I am trying to get into a shop today or tomorrow to get my alignment done and I've been told by 6 shops already that they can't do an alignment on a lifted vehicle, but is a TT/Shackle lift considered modified to the point they can't do the alignment?

Then I called 2 other shops and they said I would have to replace some bushings and do some camber adjustments that would end up costing me well over $250!

Should I just book an appointment with a shop and tell them that I didn't lift the truck and have them do the alignment? HELP!

My shop charges me $10 over a regular alignment for the t-bars, so it ended up costing a whopping $49 on my Ranger. On the Trac I had them put the shackles on as well (it was winter), and the whole deal was about $184 as I recall.

Look for a small local frame and alignment shop where the name ends in "and Sons" and all the mechanics drive lifted trucks themselves. Guys at the chain shops only do what the book tells them and don't build fun toys in the back in their spare time like blown big-block pulling trucks. :D

Depends. They might notice, they might not. I took my Ranger back to the dealer for new ball joints on warranty, they never said a word.

I've never had a problem with a shop doing an allignment on my ST after I did the TT/Shackle lift. I've never told them either. Usually costs me around $60 in Orlando, FL.
