Yesterday Todd, Paul, and myself installed new JBA ignition wires and Autolite plugs on my Trac. I have about 59,000 miles but the engine had a bad miss and this couldn't wait to the recommended 100,000 . We already did the coolant flush a couple of months back. Next is to service the gear boxes and transmission.

It wasn't a fun install but we were able to get it all done. Todd had a great idea of removing the coolant and windshield washer bottles. We also removed the passenger front tire which made the job much easier. The truck is running perfect now and smoother than ever!

Thanks guys for the help!

I too, Just installed JBA wires, Screamon Demon Coil ad bosch Platum 2 plugs.

I must say it runs better than new and I think the ST is getting better fuel mileage as well.

Good luck with the setup

griff - the coil allows you to set your gap wider on your plugs. The trac runs smoother but I can't say if I have gained any horse power or MPGs.

What was the cost of the kit? If you don't mind me asking. I am having a hell of a time trying to find after market plug wires for my '04'. Did you go factory direct?

Griff, yeah NO HP gains at all, just smoother idle and slight throttle response..

Andy,

2 sponsors sell them... Explorer express and Underdog... Also you can get Taylor wires from Summit racing....

It was a nice long hot day !!!!!!!
