Need a bit of help here, I’ve been searching these forums for hours trying to find some information and I just can’t find what I’m looking for.

I have a 2002 ST with the ‘premium’ stock stereo - the 6CD In-Dash with a subwoofer behind the back seat. I am trying to figure out how to connect some sort of adapter in there so I can plug my iPod directly into my stereo. I don't care about controlling the iPod, I just want the sound.

I have read about FM modulators and their degraded sound and I don’t want to loose any more sound quality as I am already doing that with the stock unit (and speakers) as is. I would replace the stereo completely but the double DIN spacer would bug me.

So someone please make my day and say there is a way to do this. Thanks. :)

Unless the radio has inputs on it, I think the modulator is the only way. I may be wrong..

Could I replace my 2002 6CD HU with another year/model to obtain the functionality but keep the same Ford look going on?

Or would it be a mismatch with my speakers/subwoofer?
