In the Judge Judy case, you cannot say that the outcome was fair? The moocher still did not have to pay the rent for which the money was given to him for...he got to use th money for what ever he wanted. The best outcome would have been to charge the man with fraud for accepting money from the state to pay his rent when he knew that he did not have to pay rent.
We all know there is a lot of welfare fraud out there, but when you see how easy it is to play the system, but people who really need that assistance can't get it because they are not poor enough?... it really makes me mad :angry:
It appears that our welfare system is designed specifically to cater to the liars and cheats because most people cannot qualify unless they lie or cheat.
Many years ago I hear a radio broadcast by Paul Harvey (The rest of the Story) He said that there was enough money spent on Welfare at the City, State and Federal level that we could pay every man, woman, and child (Not just the family) currently on welfare an annual income of $70K a year !! No rules, no qualifications, not buracracy, and no red tape...Just pay them $70K a year. It appears to me that the only people benefiting from welfare are the people administering the welfare, and the liars and cheats collecting their checks and food stamps.
