Hi. I came accross this part. It says it can keep the factory sub when replacing the radio. Has anyone used it? How does it install?

Thanks

Haven't seen it mentioned here in the past. Give it a shot, assuming that it can be returned if it doesn't work. You will lose your shipping fees but if you can't find it locally, what other option do you have.

Anthony,

It looks like you have to splice it into the factory speaker wires and will limit the signal sent to the sub possible filtering out what it can't handle. I was doing a search and found it cheaper at the site listed below. Give it a shot...

Behind the black box part of that is most likely another wire harness which will just tap into the stock wiring.

in my 1992 explorer eddie bauer it has the premium sound with sub woofer and when i put in the after market the sub still worked. without using any additional parts besides a wire harness
