Get in the trac, start it up, something didn't seem right, have the drivers door open, and the keyminder chime is going?/? So I turn off my trac, set the key to on, none of the idiot lights except for 3 come on? Then I start it up, turn on my headlights, and none of the instrumentation lighting turns on.

So I go through the fuse panel, and check the diagram in my manual, and it says #11 is a 7.5 amp fuse that controls the 4x4 module and the instrument cluster. My 4x4 won't engage either, so I pull 11 and sure enough it's blown.

I put in a new one and still nothing, so I check all the others which say 4x4 or instrument cluster, all intact  now I'm bracing myself for an expensive repair.

Somehow the IC lighting then comes on (safety failsafe I guess), and I figure I can drive this way for a bit since I have my scangauge going to tell me I have oil, battery, RPM, and speed (only fuel and temp gauges were working.)

I stop at strauss to say "well, what if I had a bad replacement fuse". and sure enough, I put in a new fuse, and the damn thing holds. So far so good, I really hope it is not a short.

I swear I saw a member's Trac eastbound on the Southern State Parkway around 8pm though. I'm pretty sure I've seen a pic of it in here, so it was like "OOOOH, OOOOH, I SPOTTED ONE, WHERE'S MY COOKIE?" I couldn't catch up though, I was racing to sears for a new torque wrench and couldn't miss my exit. DWWB or black, I think FL or NJ plates.

Its been along time since...but I have lost fuses on high drain circuits for no apparrent reason....like mabe the link gets weak after awhile...hope it works out...

Well last night was the first real cold snap, I always have something go wrong on the first cold night of the year.

edit: it did it again, it's the dang headlamp switch, oy.
